Wet your finger and pop the back off the kids’ Speak & Spell — it’s time for the Fourth Annual Bent Festival. And thanks to the whole DIY craze, it’s going mainstream this year with a cross-country tour and some notable professional musicians (think Devo drummer Alan Myers).
Produced by The Tank, a New York performance art space, the three-city festival is a celebration of circuit bending — the art of creating homemade musical instruments by modifying simple battery-powered electronic gadgets.
